Central Wisconsin Paranormal Research (CWPR), uses a variety of equipment to gather evidence and document alleged activity.
Digital Voice Recorders: Used to capture EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). Often times we will pick up voice responses to questions asked during an investigations. These will not be heard by the naked ear, but will be picked up on recording media.
Digital & 35mm Camera: Many photographs will be taken during an investigation to try and capture things such as mists, shadows, orbs, or other light anomalies that are often indications of paranormal entities.
Night Vision Video: Used to monitor an area where activity has been reported.
Electromagnetic Field Meters: Measures changes in the electromagnetic fields. It is thought that when spirits attempt to manifest they create spikes in the electomagnetic field. So if there is an unexplained high reading, especially if it is combined with other events, this is a good indication of paranormal activity.
Parabolic Mic: Used to pic up distant or very hard to hear voices or activity.
Laser Thermometer: Used for locating and documenting cold spots. Unexplained cold spots are another indication of spirit manifestation.
NEW: K-II meter, as featured on "Dead Famous" and "Ghost Hunters" A new piece of equipment in the toolbox. Based on EMF the K-II meter picks up the slightest change in electromagnetic fields. This meter does not have a digital readout but it does have colored lights. It reacts quickly to any change in the field. Paranormal researchers and ghost hunters are using this device to speak to entities. If the entity moves close to the meter it will set off the lights. If the entity wants to communicate a series of questions can be asked in a yes and no format.
